Wooden Grain Elevators and Their Legacy- A Case-Study using JH Hawes Grain Elevator

The City of Atlanta, Illinois, along with the Illinois Humanities Activate History Grant are bringing you a FREE program on October 23, 2022. 

Bill Kemp of the McLean County Museum of History will be presenting information about wooden grain elevators, with emphasis on JH Hawes Wooden Grain Elevator, at 2 p.m. at the Atlanta Library & Museum's Union Hall (entrance available on the backside of Missy's Sweet Shoppe and through the Welcome Center on 114 SW Arch Street). There will be a tour inside the JH Hawes Wooden Grain Elevator following the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided.

As an added bonus, the Country Aire Restaurant will donate 10% of your meal order on that day to the Atlanta Historical Preservation Council for the ongoing preservation of the J.H. Hawes Grain Elevator Museum.
