Atlanta Welcomes 3 New Businesses to Town

The City of Atlanta is pleased to welcome three new businesses to town. If you stroll down First Street from City Hall toward the bowling alley, you will pass the newly opened Rural Roots, Vicky’s Boutique and Artful Market. They will be joining the Country Companies insurance office, leaving only three empty storefronts on the block and bringing new life to Atlanta’s downtown area.

Rural Roots is a Salon and Spa operated by Olympia alumna, Justine Garey, at 104 SW 1st St. RRural Roots entranceural Roots relocated from McLean earlier this month, offering hair styling, manicures and pedicures. They will be adding facials and waxing services on January 1, 2024. Justine also sells Amika, Biolage and Lanza beauty products, as well as gift certificates. Rural Roots is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Call 217871-6381 for an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome. Vicky’s Boutique & Gifts opened in the space that some will remember as Sherman's Curiosity Shop at 108 SW 1st St. Vicky relocated her boutique and dress shop from McLean on December 1. Stop by for purses, wallets, jewelry, cloVicky's Boutique interiorthing – sizes XS to 3XL, accessories, gifts, and so much more! Vicky’s Boutiques will be open all year round from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. As a bonus during the holiday season, the shop will also be open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the month of December. Artful Market interior

At the end of the block, you can visit Artful Market. Newly opened by Deb Armstrong and Kelly Byrd, Artful Market offers a variety of handcrafted and locally produced items. There are more than a dozen artisans, ranging in age from 20-somethings to 90 years, offering soaps, lotions, candles, honey, needlework, stained glass, greeting cards, decorations and more. Also open year-round, their shopping hours are Tuesday through Friday noon to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. You may also make an appointment to shop via Facebook @artfulmarketofatlanta or email artfulmarket@outlook.com.
